The Star Of Kazan is a novel by Eva Ibbotson. It is about this girl who was found as an orphan by two friendly housekeepers who worked for these very nice professors. Later, a woman purchased some fake documents saying that the girl was her child. The mean lady sent her to this suicidal school who was strict about everything. It was a bad school and no student can ever leave. While she was at school, the mean fake mother sold these precious gems that were hers because of someone who left them for her in a will. It is a good book and it is also available in the library.
