An Acceptable Time is a great fantasy novel by Madeleine L'Engle. It is about this girl named Polly and this man named Zachary who travel into the past because he wanted to be cured of heart disease. There they meet new and interesting people and Across The Lake people, and they were sworn to be enemies. When they get trapped there, all Zach thinks about is himself so he was willing to sacrifice Polly in exchange for him to be healed. In t he end it turned out that he was a selfish jerk and that they never meet again. It is a detailed book and very interesting, like all the other books in this series.
