Kira- Kira is an award winning book by Cynthia Kadonata. It is about two sisters named Katie and Lynn who are japanese and have recently moved to Iowa. Lynn is Katie's older sister, and also her one and only inspiration to think of all as kira-kira (glittering/shining). When Lynn grows fatally ill, the whole family does whatever they can to keep her haelthy and alive. Katie learns to teach her family that even though the present may be dull or sad, there is always something that is glittering.

Oh, this is a very moving book, I have read it before, except that I read it in Chinese! This book is full of morals!
