Reading Challenge- Peter and the Starcatchers.

This is a very interesting and exciting book. It starts when 4 orphans are loaded onto a ship, bound for Rundoon. The orphans are: Peter, James, Prentis, and Tubby Ted. Meanwhile the ship’s captain, Slank, orders 2 soldiers, Alf and Pentar to get a special trunk on the ship, but then Alf touches it, he feels wonderful magic. But he is interrupted by Slank and the orphans, who are on the ship, the Never Land. Peter makes friends with a girl named Molly, but they are separated by Slank, who sends them below, and reveals the orphans fate. They are being sold as servants to the evil king of Rundoon, King Zarboff the third. The never land then sets sail with the fastest ship in the king’s navy-the Wasp. Meanwhile, a pirate, Black Stache and his crew set after the Wasp to retrieve a treasure which he believes is on the Wasp. He throws water overboard,and he goes nearer and nearer. The orphans are desperately hungry, because they are fed worms,and Peter goes to steal bread, but he stumbles into the chamber where the trunk is kept. He sees a flying Rat, but the guard stumbles in, though Molly helps him escape and gives him bread. Meanwhile Molly speaks to Ammm,a Porpoise,and tells him to warn her father, who is on the wasp, about the pirate ,and tries to tells him that the box is on her ship. However, Ammm does not understand, but goes to transmit the message as best as he can. Peter makes a plan with Alf to see the trunk, but they are stopped by Molly. Alf flees, but Molly tells Peter about the trunk. She says starstuff is in it, and that is a magical item that can grant amazing powers. She is part of an organization called the starcatchers, and their purpose is to take starstuff and hide it, so no one can use it for evil. She then proves her point by flying by starstuff. Meanwhile, Black Stache has attacked the Wasp. everyone is taken prisoner, but Molly’s father escapes when Ammm pulls him into the sea. However He is tricked by Slank, and the starstuff he believes he has is just sand. Black Stache attacks the Never Land, but Molly and Peter, Alf and the remanning Orphans, and Slank and the crew member little Richard, escape, but a storm pulls the starstuff into the sea. The 4 groups arrive on the island and look for the starstuff- and each other, while fighting off monsters the starstuff has evolved, and a tribe of not-so-friendly natives, while everyone grows more desperate. for the starstuff, while it begins changing life. This is a very interesting book, and you should read it.
