HENRY VIII & his SIX WIVES
This book is about Henry the eight. After I read this book i was interested about Henry the 8th. I love reading books about him since he had SIX WIVES!
Henry VIII had six wives. Three Katherines, two Annes and a Jane. One died, two divorced and two beheaded and one was still alive even after Henry VIII's death. His 1st wife, Katherine of Aragon was his wife for 24 years. But, Henry met this lady called Anne Bolyn and found Katherine of Aragon boring. So he divorced her and few weeks after the divorce he married Anne Bolyn. Anne Bolyn was a beautiful lady who had charming black hair and eyes. She was very different to other women that Henry VIII met before. She told him what to do and she was alot of fun to talk to. Also she gave birth to a Princess. Princess Elizabeth. But she had alot of enemies who did not like her. So one day a person spread a lie about Anne Bolyn cheating on Henry VIII and she was sent to the tower of London and was beheaded... Henry VIII's 3rd wife was Jane Seymour. She was a very special wife to Henry because she gave birth to prince Edward and Henry wanted a son very much. He was very happy but unluckily after giving birth to Prince Edward was a tiring time for Jane Seymour. Finally She got ill and had to leave her son and her husband. Henry VIII didn't came out from his room for few weeks because he missed Jane Seymour so much. He needed a wife to take care of his children Edward and Elizabeth. So Henry VIII started searching for his wife. One day someone told him about Anne of Cleves who was a German Princess. People said that she was beautiful and clever. That time Henry VIII was pleased with German. He sent an artist to German to draw Anne of Cleves for him. Anne of Cleves in the picture, she was a beautiful yound lady. So, Henry decided to marry her. He couldn't wait to see his new wife and one day before the wedding he went to see Anne of Cleves secretly. He went to the hotel that she's staying at and he went into the room. Henry VIII felt anger inside him. She wan't the Anne of Cleves that he saw in the picture. She looked like a horse more than a beautiful young lady he saw in the picture. Anyway they got married but they never shared a room together. Anne was only married for few months and then got divorced. Henry VIII was more like a brother than a husband. His 5th wife was Katherine Howard. She was a beautiful young lady who was only 19 years old. Henry VIII fell in love with her the first time he saw her. Katherine Howard did not want to marry him because she was in love with another man already. But her family forced her to marry Henry VIII. One night someone saw Katherine Howard meeting a suspicious man at night secretly and told Henry VIII about this. Henry VIII got really angry about this and sent Katherine Howard to the tower of London and she was beheaded in few days. Now Henry VIII was an old man who needed someone to look after him. One day at a ball, he met Catherine Parr. She had a warm smile in her face. So yes, they got married and unluckily Henry VIII died first and Catherine was still alive.
* what i loved the most about this book was that it includes the letters that Henry VIII's wives sent him before the death, before the execution and before divorce.
