Reading challenge-The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy

This is a funny book. It is about Arthur Dent, a human. His house is about to get demolished to make way for a freeway bypass, but his best friend Ford Prefect tries to convince him that he is from another planet. As soon as Arthur's house gets demolished, the Earth gets attacked by Vogons, who explain the Earth has to be destroyed to make way for a hyperspace bypass. Then they demolish Earth. However, ford and Arthur manage to escape by hitching a ride on a Vogon ship. That is illegal by Vogon code, and they are discovered and tortured with Vogon poetry (Which is the 3rd worst in the Universe), then thrown out into space. Just then as they are rescued by the Ex-president of the galaxy, Zaphod Breeblebrox., on his ship powered by the power of improbability (being rescued from space is a very improbable event). He is searching for the planet Magrathea, which is famous for manufacturing luxury planets. They manage to find the planet, but Arthur is separated and taken to a facility by an alien called Slartibarfast. He explains to Arthur that many many years ago, a race of beings were bored and wanted to find out the answer to life, the universe, and everything. They build a supercomputer called Deep Thought, and after 7.5 million years, it announces the answer is 42. Deep thought explains it is not a proper question “what’s answer to life, the universe and everything” so deep Thought designs a more powerful supercomputer called Earth, to calculate the question. After 10 million years, the Vogons, who don’t want anyone to find out the question, blow Earth up 6 minutes before completion. He then says that Arthur is the last being of earth, he has the question in his brain. 2 mice come, and they offer to buy Arthur’s brain, but he says no. The mice prepare to dissect his brain anyways, police invade to capture Zaphod (who stole the improbability starship), and he manages to reunite with the rest of the group and escape. Then, they decide to go to The restaurant at the end of the universe for lunch. I like this book because it is funny and interesting.
