The Iron Way

This is a sad story by Gillian Cross. The genre is tension and tragedy.

In this story there's a fight between a village and a group of goldsmiths who live up in the lane.

Everyone in the village are forbidden to go there as the goldsmiths are considered to be vulgars because they drink beer and they are are fearsome but thier unaware of thier kind hearts.In this village lived a family who was really poor.

One winter evening there's a knock on the door and outside stood Mr O'Flyn, the goldsmith. He asks the lady and the boy in the house if he can stay for a couple of days. The family nodded and said 'no' but when he said he will pay for the his living the family said 'yes' as they were out of stock and were living on bread.

As the time passes, the young woman in the house falls in love with him and wants to marry him. When the villagers overheard the story that the goldsmith is living in thier house and the lady wants to marry him, they flew in rage and killed him.
