Robert Langdon, a Havard University symbologist has found out that the secret society called " Iluminati" hasn't extincted yet and a scientist has been killed and had the name " Illuminati" branded on his chest. Robert Langdon and Vittoria Vetra went to Rome to find the path to the hall of the society and to find out who has killed Vittoria's father ( the scientist). Along their journey, Robert found out that there are different popes being killed as the clues for them. The popes were killed in 4 different elements earth, air,fire and water : soil forced down to the throat, buried and with the word Earth branded on the chest; His lungs had been punctured and his chest also been branded "Air"; the third one who has been burned alive and he also got branded " Fire"; the final one who has been branded "Water" and drown down to the bottom of a large fountain. Using clues and everything that a symbologist have known, Robert and Vittoria finally manage to get to the hall of the society and killed the assassin but there was still the secret unknown Janus, the master. They also found the antimatter that is going to blow the whole Vatican city away and got rid of it by the help of the camerlengo. But before that, they went back to the church to rescue the camerlengo from Kohler as they afraid that Kohler would kill him to plot against the church. A guard shot Kohler and just before he died, he gave Robert a tap that would explain anything. After successfully saving the city, Robert went back to the church and shown everyone the tape. Horrfied, everyone found out that the actual Janus is the camerlengo. He has killed the pope ( his biological father) and order the assassin to killed another 4 popes. The camerlengo soaked in the oil and died in front of the crowd in ST.PETER SQUARE. The mystery is over, Robert and Vittoria retire in the hotel Bernini
