Princess Academy by Shannon Hale

I think this book was very heartwarming. It is about a girl called Miri whose family was very very poor and when one day, she heard that the prince is going to marry someone and all the girls in her village were supposed to be trained to be princesses to which they have to do a test to see who has got the best score and she could be the princess.Miri is very kind and intelligent and she talked to Katar even though she was also a competitor fo the princess, she wanted to be princess was not because of her own happiness, but also she wanted her family to have a house of their own and can live in luxury for the rest of their lives. My least favourite part of the story is that finally Miri wasn't chosen for the princess, but she wasn't sad and she wanted to read more books to and have an academy to let all the villagers to learn how to read and write. This book was a Newberry Honour book and I think it is okay.
